Glenn's Career as Artist and PGA Golf Professional
Immediately upon graduating from college with a degree in Advertising and Fine Art, Glenn began creating advertising art for various clients such as JC Penney, Boy Scouts of America, Dallas Mavericks, Zale Corp., and eventually PING Golf Club Mfg.- for whom he created their very first product catalog. In addition, book illustration contracts resulted in numerous trips to Arizona which compelled him and his entire family to pull up stakes and move to a suburb of Phoenix. Consequently, his geographic availability and intense knowledge of golf eventuated in Glenn receiving a contract at PING Golf in Phoenix. Glenn never stopped creating art - hundreds of pieces of art - for companies such as DeGolyer-MacNaughton, Sanger Harris, Prentice Hall and Simon and Schuster Publishers. With his degree in advertising and considerable experience in publishing, Glenn was appointed as team member / producer of all of PING’s marketing collateral and all magazine advertising production for publications worldwide.
As an avid golfer since age 11 and having become so deeply involved in the golf industry at PING he was presented with the need for legitimizing himself as a golf professional. He entered the PGA via the qualifying tournament and PGA schooling and received his credential as a class A, PGA Professional. Then, in 2001 the bottom began to fall out of the golf and tourism industry in Arizona. Glenn and his family moved back to Texas where he participated in the management of several golf courses and painted golf landscapes to adorn the walls of his golf shops.
Since Glenn had continued creating art - hundreds of portraits and many dozens of paintings he found himself painting landscapes and creating pencil drawings and portraits not only for his many contacts in the PGA but for friends and customers everywhere he has been.
Glenn's art its currently on display at golf courses and entities in California, Arizona, Texas, Georgia and Florida.
